Description
Organic ground cinnamon: warm, sweet and versatile
Organic ground cinnamon is one of the most beloved spices in the world. With its warm, sweet aroma and refined spiciness, cinnamon is indispensable in both sweet and savory dishes. From apple pie and cookies to curries, stews and hot drinks: with ground cinnamon you can easily add extra flavor and character.
The organic cinnamon from Natural Spices comes from Sri Lanka, the cradle of high-quality Ceylon cinnamon. Our cinnamon is SKAL-certified and sourced from organic cultivation, so you choose pure quality without unnecessary additives.
Available in packages of 60 g, 400 gand 1 kilo.
What is organic ground cinnamon?
Ground cinnamon is made from the carefully dried and finely ground inner bark of the cinnamon tree (Cinnamomum verum). During drying the thin bark naturally curls into the familiar cinnamon sticks, which are then milled into a fine powder.
Ceylon cinnamon from Sri Lanka is known for its mild, refined flavor with subtle citrusy notes. This makes this cinnamon particularly suitable for everyday use in a variety of dishes.
How do you use organic ground cinnamon?
Ground cinnamon is a versatile spice you can use year-round. Delicious in:
- apple pie, cookies, cake and speculaas;
- oatmeal, yogurt and granola;
- smoothies and hot chocolate;
- coffee, chai and other hot drinks;
- curries, tagines and stews;
- braised apples, pears and pumpkin.
A small amount is often already enough to give a dish a warm, full flavor.
More than just sweet dishes
Although cinnamon is best known from baking, the spice also features heavily in Middle Eastern, North African and Asian cuisine. There cinnamon adds extra depth to stews, rice dishes, spice blends and marinades. Thanks to its mild, aromatic taste, organic ground cinnamon pairs excellently with spices such as cardamom, clove, ginger and cumin.
