Ingredients (for 4 people):
250 grams chicken breast, 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 0.5 red pepper, 1 (orange) pointed pepper, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1.5 tbsp Yalla Yalla Ras el Hanout, 1 tsp cumin powder, 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce, 1 tbsp sambal badjak , 1 tsp honey, 4 bake-off pistolets, 0.5 cucumber
Preparation method:
Cut the chicken breast into small cubes. Chop the onion and finely chop the garlic cloves. Finely chop the red pepper and the pointed pepper in half lengthwise, remove the seeds and then cut into thin strips crosswise. Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Saute the onion, garlic and red pepper for a minute. Then add pointed pepper strips and fry for 2 minutes. Then add the chicken breast cubes, Yalla Yalla, cumin powder and salt and pepper. Bake this for 4 minutes. Add soy sauce, sambal and honey and fry for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens. Meanwhile, bake the buns in the oven according to the directions on the package. Let cool slightly on a wire rack. Cut the cucumber into thin slices. Cut the buns open lengthwise. Top with the cucumber slices and hot chicken. Serve with some loose vegetables on the side such as tomatoes, cucumber and radish. The sandwiches are also tasty with pickled red onion. See tip.
Tip: Cut a red onion into half rings for the pickled red onion. Place in a sealable preserving jar. Mix 125 ml of boiled water with 2 teaspoons of sugar (or honey) in a small bowl. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Add the sugar water, 180 ml of white wine vinegar and a pinch of salt to the onion. Let it cool for a while, then put the lid on and put it in the fridge overnight.
