Description
Speculaas spices for all kinds of sweetness
Speculaas spices are a warm and spicy blend that is particularly good in autumn and winter, but is actually indispensable in our kitchens all year round. You use the spice mix in the first place to make speculaas, 'pepernoten' and gingerbread. But apart from that they also do a great job in all kinds of other sweet 'baking'. Speculaas spices are also called biscuit spices. There is no difference between the two. For the same reason, the spice mix is sold by other manufacturers named 'biscuit and speculaas spices'. At Natural Spices you can easily and quickly order the spice mix online. You can buy it in a pack size of 430 grams, 1.2 kilos or 20 kilos.
Speculaas herbs or spices?
Speculaas spices are a well-known concept in the Netherlands and Belgium.
What spices are in speculaas spices?
The ingredients is an aromatic mix that is composed exactly in such a way that the biscuit, speculaas and cake can have the right flavour. No artificial ingredients have been added to this mix of spices. This means it can be called 100% natural and healthy. The mix consists of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger and pepper. The cinnamon is Ceylon cinnamon, named after the species native to Sri Lanka. Ceylon cinnamon is also called the 'real' cinnamon and is a lot healthier than cassia cinnamon, which usually originates from China.
What do you use speculaas herbs for?
As said before, you use speculaas herbs for typical Dutch sweets that are eaten mainly during the cold autumn and winter days. However, the warm and spicy flavour of this mix can be applied to many more sweets. Think for example of apple pie, pear jam, biscuits and gingerbread. With speculaas herbs you can go in all directions and effortlessly put the tastiest delicacies on the table.
