Preparation time: 15 minutes
Oven time: 20–25 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 600 grams cod fillet or haddock fillet
- 2 leeks
- 200 ml cooking cream
- 1½ tablespoons Vis-a-Vis fish spices
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 50 grams grated cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Black pepper to taste
- Optionally a little salt
- Optional: a few lemon wedges to serve with
Get started
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C or 180 °C fan.
- Cut the leeks into thin rings and rinse them thoroughly. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and fry the leeks for about 5 minutes, until they are softer but still have some texture.
- Pat the cod dry with kitchen paper and cut the fish into large pieces. Distribute the pieces over a lightly greased baking dish.
- Spread the fried leeks over and between the fish.
- Mix the cooking cream with the mustard and Vis-a-Vis. Season if desired with black pepper and a little salt. Vis-a-Vis contains no added salt, so you decide how much salt to use.
- Pour the cream sauce evenly over the fish and leeks. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
- Bake the fish casserole for 20 to 25 minutes in the middle of the oven. The dish is ready when the sauce is gently bubbling, the cheese is lightly golden and the fish flakes easily.
- Let the baking dish rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve optionally with a lemon wedge.
